Survived My First Week!

It was my first paid job (well, technically second but the really first paid job was only a short period), anyways, and thought of working with little primary school children was a bit scary because I obviously didn't know what to expect. But, I happily survived! At first, I didn't know any of the staff and the kids names or what year they were in. But after two days of working at OOSH, I knew most of their names, the staff were all friendly-chilled-laid back kind of people :) The first week, I mostly just asked a bunch of questions about what's the routine in the morning and the afternoons, what activities are set out for the kids, how do they organise the activities for each year group (Kindy-Year 6) and what each staff's members responsibility during the afternoon sessions.

I survived and at the moment, loving it! The hours are super chill because they don't interfere with anything during the day. If it's the morning shift, it's hours are early in the morning until school bell rings which is like 0900, and the school kids are off to classes and breakfast is finished and packed away. Afternoon sessions run from 1400 to 1845, which are good times too because I'm still on uni holidays. I've just experienced my first afternoon shift and it felt crazy! There was probably about 40 kids for OOSH! Seems little when you read, only 40 kids, but once you're in the hall, they're everywhere!! Haha :) nah, but I think I'm starting to love it :) which is a good thing. Because at the moment, I want to work with paediartrics in my line of work / career wise (occupational therapy).

Overall, my week has been super good, and super exciting with my new job :) Next week will be even better with even more shifts. Yay.

Hope you're having a good week too, and TGIF!!! :D

Just blaze!

I've always been a fan of blazers. Colors are always hard to pick - such as the classic black blazers to the bright, bold blazers, then you've also got floral and studded shoulder blazers. Then, picking out the style of blazer like double-breasted, the boyfriend, the cropped, or those single-breasted blazers. At the moment, on the search of some cool blazers to wear for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season here in Sydney. I love shoulder detailed blazers, I think it gives a sharp look to the outfit :) A bold, bright blazer like my orange one I bought from Glebe markets was a bargain buy, $5! Score :)

I think, blazers are must in every girl's wardrobe. You can wear blazers in any season and dress it up or down - for a professional, business look to a casual dining with the girlfriends look. I love some of these looks by some celebrities I love :)

Miranda Kerr - The Boyfriend Blazer; her outfit is so effortless :)

Miranda Kerr - Cropped blazer; looking gorgeous as always :)

Alexa Chung - The Double-Breasted Blazer; love the color, love the style!

LC - :) :) :) :)

Lauren Conrad - favourite; a feminine ivory blazer

Taylor Swift - simple but cute; red lippy too!

Taylor Swift - 13; cute :)

Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari - Denim blazer

Love all these. Definitely will be on the look out for blazers this coming seasons.
OK, time to sleep :( First day of my very first job hah! Yay and nay :D

The Beauty Post

Lately, I've been getting into the whole beauty scene.. Unlike before, I never was interested in the whole beauty products stuff. All I would do is my three step routine (cleanse, tone, moisturize) before bed and in the mornings, exfoliate my face once a week, and apply lotion before going to bed and in the mornings. The only products I would really use on my face if I went out were powder foundation, pencil eye liner and lip balm. But now... There are many beauty things that I love, and things I'm yet to try :)

There are one, two or a few websites that I adore, and that you should probably check out if you have the time.

Firstly, a favourite, I love Beauty Heaven! This beauty website has the lot - from make up to skin care, hair, hands and feet, mum & baby, health and well-being and so much more! I love reading about product reviews, these help me choose if the product is good for me, but also I try look for samples whenever I can. You can also enter competitions on the website or through their Facebook page with "Friday Giveaways". I have definitely signed up with beautyheaven's newsletter to get up to date information, how-to's and exciting news about celebrities or products that have been trialed by the trial teams!

beautyheaven

Secondly, PRIMPED is also another bookmarked favourite. Sponsored by Ninemsn. It's similar to beautyheaven, it has its how-to's, product reviews, competitions, and other blogs you can check out; such as The Daily Gloss, Blush Hour, Beauty Duty, Younger You and Celebeauty and Beauty Counter. I have already signed up to their newsletter too, but yet to discover what this website has to offer.

PRIMPED

Both websites have a rewarding system, where you can earn points when you comment or review a products:

1) On beautyheaven, through their loyalty reward - beautorium! There are many ways to earn points too. Once these points are earned, you are rewarded with some goodies. For example, if you've reached a certain amount of points, you can redeem those points for beauty products.
2) As for PRIMPED, earn points through posts on Facebook, posting a comment on the website or reviewing products. The chance to earn points also means your membership status level increases, and you're also being rewarded with prizes (reaching up to certain amount of points for prizes).

Lastly, I have another blog that I like. It's a friend from uni, her blog is Thai Tales. Her name is Amanda, studies health at university, and loves her fashion! She reviews products, how-to nail art designs, and talks about her travels. The best thing about finding beauty blogs is that, if the person has similar skin type as you. Go check her blog or even follow her.

Oh, very last one! I have a friend at uni, her name is Natalie. I've mentioned her name quite a few times in my blog. She's a cutie! She does product reviews and love her blog. Updates with her OOTD, places she's been and beauty products. Check her out here!

Products that I love at the moment:
- Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear (Medium)
- Nude Magique BB Cream by L'Oreal Paris
- Organix Coconut Milk (recommended by Natalie)
- Batiste Dry Shampoo - Tropical
- Formula 10.0.06 'No Time To Shine'

There are yet many, many beauty products to try out! Beauty scene, here I come..

Coogee to Bondi Walk

Love to overlook amazing coastal views? Do the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. It overlooks the beaches in between Bondi and Coogee. But Natalie and I went backwards and decided to start from Coogee. We knew at the end of our walk, we would come across a lot more cafes and restaurants at Bondi than at Coogee. Put our gym gear on and off we went...

Myself and Natalie

A hidden little beach with lots of dingy
Just in between Coogee and Clovelly Beach

When Natalie and I went to do the wog (walk/ jog), the weather was overcast but a calm and cool breeze was on the agenda that day. But at the end of the walk... Keep scrolling down ;)

Waverley Cemetery
In the distance is Bronte Beach

"You have reached your destination."
In the distance was Bondi Beach!

Bondi Beach :)

Once we reached our destination, the clouds seemed to scattered away and the sun finally decided to show! How lucky were we! On the same day, we had lunch at Moo Gourmet Burgers. Read about my Moo Gourmet Burger post here. After lunch, we're both indecisive people, so we were tossing up between taking a bus back to Coogee or walking it back. Well, the sun was high and bright and why miss out on getting some vitamin D? So we trekked it back to Coogee! By the end of the wog we just wanted to sleep!! It was a well deserved walk through the coastal walk and a well deserved lunch together.

Go on, get some exercise and stroll along the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk! x

Lunch Date with My Mr.

A lunch date with my Mr. was ideal for celebrating the wonderful time we have been together. We went to Jamie's Italian Restaurant on 107 Pitt Street, Sydney. Tucked away on Pitt Street, it was a lovely place to dine in for two, or plenty.

Jamie's Italian, Sydney

Jamie's Italian Restaurant only do bookings of a group of 6 or more. So, it was a first in best dressed seating if you're less than 6 people. Lucky for us on the day, it was only a 10-15 minute wait to get seated, we didn't mind the wait since I was the one that wanted to eat here because of the huge rave about Jamie's.

When first walking in, I thought it was quite small. You step in and several bar stools with high benches in the waiting bay near the bar. We sat here for a bit to be seated for our table. Our seats were finally available, and we were situated upstairs near the railings.

For entree we had the Crispy Squid with garlicky mayo and lemon. It was a small proportion but tasted good. The pieces were too small for my liking, especially at a price of $12.

Crispy Squid

Also, we before the entree came along, a small box filled with assorted bread. I didn't get to take a picture of it because when it was placed on the table, we devoured it in a flash! :)

After wondering waiting a while after the entrees came, my stomach was very hungry!! Thinking that they probably forgot about our food, a lovely waitress checked our mains and here they come - speak of the devil! Yummy!!

Top: Grilled Chicken,
Middle: Polenta Chips,
Below: Prawn Linguine

Grilled Chicken marinated with a tomato, olive, chilli and caper sauce.

So my Mr. had the grilled chicken and the famous polenta chips. He said the polenta chips were like those cheese balls but fried, lol. On the other hand, I had the prawn linguine, pan fried garlicky prawns with tomatoes, chilli, rocket, fennel and topped it off with Parmesan cheese. Yum. I picked the small proportion size because I know I eat little, the price for my size was $16. Reasonable price? Taste? Unbelievably yum and it wasn't a bloated full filling, it was more of a light full filling which was good. I would definitely go back for seconds...

Overall experience:
Staff members were polite and friendly. Great service but timing of the foods need to be well planned out a bit more - it felt like I was waiting for 45 minutes for my mains to come out after the entrees we devoured. But nonetheless, it was only a 20 minute wait for the next meal to come along. The food was "sooo good" boasted from my Mr. and I believe it was delicious and amazing. My pasta was light and the flavours were all tasty. The chicken from my Mr. dish was cooked to perfection and the sauce was really good. Well done, Jamie! I would definitely recommend Jamie's Italian Restaurant. I definitely love Italian foods!

You never know, until you give it a go! x

Cheers!

Here's to a Happy New Year for fresh starts, new beginnings, creating and hopefully sticking by those new year's resolutions you made for 2013, new relationships and living a healthy and better lifestyle.

I spent my New Years Eve with close family and friends. Celebrated in style at Helm Bar with my man and two friends of mine. I don't often party hard, drink a lot and don't remember the night.. But this was an exception - I don't remember half my night. I'd say it was an excellent night if I can remember the best bits that happened at the NYE party. Although, the next morning isn't always the best. Biggest hangover of my life! To top it off, through the shenanigans, my boyfriend lost his wallet in some taxi. I feel the utmost guilt and hatred. I have never felt so responsible ever, even though the wallet is mine nor I lost it.. But feeling like it was my fault.. Is something wrong with me? So.. I've made my calls to all the taxi companies there are in Sydney. Fingers crossed that someone who would be a good person would return it. Hoping so much so I can find his wallet.

Other matters, biggest hangover came with a case of sickness. A runny nose, biggest headache of my life, body numbing all over - not the best way to start a new year. I tried to forget all the above by watching my favourite Gossip Girl seasons and eating raspberry with white chocolate ice cream all day long. I've just been eating al junk foods all day - not exactly a 'healthy choice'.

Hopefully 2013 can bring me something good this year. All I know at the moment, it's all about change. A hell lot of changes.

Love,
xoxo
